Dogs and Puppies!

Pretty

My mother bred Collies when I was a teenager. Pretty brought several dozen into the world. She also was great about keeping count of the cows in the pasture and letting me know if any were missing.

CATS!

I have always had a cat in my life. Many times this special friend was my only protector and confidante

This is Sampson, Mischef's father.

Sampson, 20 lbs of love, This picture is not easy to make out, but he is lying in the dog's cage.

Mr. Bentley takes a little nap.

Below is Mischief. I really didn't hypnotize him.  Like Mr. Bentley, he just really knows how to relax.  As you can see, Mischief has fallen asleep on a couple of black pillows and a white one and just slid down onto the bed - onto his head.  What a cat!  He weighs about 20 pounds and has a beautiful yellow tabbie tail - probably laying limply down between the pillows.

I was told that cats are in an attack mode when on their backs. Fearsome!!!

Cats!

None of my cats slept like this one, but only because they never thought of it. LATE NOTE:  Mr. Bentley must have seen the picture.  How else do you account for his taking a nap on top of the hangers like this?!?!

She LOVED black-eyed peas.

Horses!

goldenhorse.jpg

For several weeks, as I drove to work early in the morning, I would notice the progress of a house that had been moved to a spot near the road inside a pasture. The carpenters were adding a carport on the near end of the house. The horse who was kept in that pasture was a very curious being and would check their progress. Often, I would see him with his head looking into the open back door. I smiled to myself, knowing how much he was enjoying the activities and new discoveries.

Well, they have put up a fence around the house and the horse can no longer observe the changes so closely. It occurs to me that we do that very thing to ourselves and to each other as we go through life. Others may put up those fences and, sometimes, we do it ourselves.
